You do not want to miss the Fifteenth Annual Lunch and Laughs with a Legal Legend, held Friday, September 18, 2026 at The Morgan Marriott by Waterfront Place in Morgantown, WV.

This year's honored guest will be Professor Vincent P. Cardi. Professor Vincent P. Cardi has been a respected member of the West Virginia University College of Law faculty since 1967, earning recognition as an award-winning educator and leader in legal scholarship. In addition to teaching generations of law students, he has played a significant role in shaping state and national legal policy through his work with the Uniform Law Commission and other prominent legal organizations.

We are pleased to welcome Forest “Jack” Bowman as this year’s emcee! Jack taught law at West Virginia University for 23 years, earning the distinction of Professor of the Year an unprecedented seven times by graduating classes. In 1988, he was also named Professor of the Year for all of higher education in West Virginia by the Faculty Merit Foundation of West Virginia. Since retiring, Jack has turned his talents to writing, authoring two novels, All Our Yesterdays and The Secret of the 48th Foot. We are delighted to have such an accomplished educator, author, and engaging personality join us as emcee!

The proceeds from the Lunch & Laughs event are divided between the WV Bar Foundation and the honoree's selected charitable recipients, the WVU College of Law Justice Larry V. Starcher Public Service Scholarship and the Just for Kids Child Advocacy Center in Beckley, WV.

Table sponsorships of $1,350 are provided a reserved table with 8 seats. Additional sponsorship packages are available. Individual tickets can be purchased for $100. Can't attend the in-person event? Register for the Non-Attending Supporter, and 100% of your registration fee will go toward these philanthropic programs.
